More Information
A decade in the making, Black Tailed Devils is a one-of-a-kind fly-fishing movie, the first dedicated to capturing the pursuit of permit on film. The producers of Getting Guided and Into the Backing--the only company hard-core and hell-bent enough to target this befuddling species full-time--travel to the outer regions of the Florida Keys with tournament-winning guides and their clients to score never-before-seen footage of the flats' most elusive fish. With an array of reel-searing runs, cursing anglers, pole-throwing guides, and a lifetime's worth of tailing permit, Black Tailed Devils captures--like no film before it--the insanity and exhilaration of chasing permit on-the-fly.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
406 Productions
is a homegrown film company started in Missoula, Montana in 1995. Run by consummate professionals in the fly fishing industry, 406 Productions started as a hobby, and over the course of the past fifteen years, has become our lives. As fly fishing professionals, we found ourselves in some of the most dramatic landscapes on planet earth, with some of the top professionals on the globe. We felt what we were doing needed to be recorded and we've dedicated the past decade and a half to doing so.

Our premier film ?Black Tailed Devils? highlights fly fishing for permit in the Lower Florida Keys. Arguably the toughest of all fly fishing challenges, Florida Keys permit are truly the ?Holy Grail? of the fly fishing world. We felt capturing this pursuit on film should be our primary goal.

406 Productions has filmed around the globe. From trout and salmon in Chile, too bonefish, permit, and tarpon in the Florida Keys; from wild trout and steelhead in Montana and the Pacific Northwest, too roosterfish, sailfish, and tuna in Panama; 406 Productions has visited the most renowned fishing meccas on the globe, and we have captured it all on film. We are currently putting together an adventure-travel series for the Sportsman?s Channel called ?Getting Guided?, an episodic story told by guides, detailing the thrills, challenges, excitement, and heartbreak involved in totally submersing oneself in the fly fishing world. We also have several ongoing projects targeting both fresh and salt water species that will come to fruition over the course of the next year or two.
