Lynn Bogue Hunt, called the "audubon of his time" by no less than the New York Times, produced over 106 covers for Field & Stream magazine in a career that spanned 56 years. He also produced classic art for stamps, cards, prints, and books, as well as illustrations for L.L.Bean catalog covers, glassware, tile, coasters and plates. In a biographical essay, Kevin Shelly describes Hunt as a man of contractions: both an ardent animal lover and a hunter; someone who felt at home in the woods, yet lived most of his life in suburban New York.
