Major John L. Plaster
, the author of Paladin's bestselling The Ultimate Sniper, served three tours in the top-secret unconventional warfare group, SOG. After retiring from the military, he combined what he'd learned of stealth, stalking & camouflage with his postwar experiences as a competitive shooter to cofound a Reserve Component sniper training program, which quickly became a major national school. He went on to be a precision rifle instructor at the prestigious Gunsite Training Center, a lecturer for American Special Operations schools & twice served as Chief of Competition for U.S. & European military & police sniping.
