ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
David Burch is a director of the Starpath School of Navigation in Seattle, Washington, and he has taught marine navigation to more than 15,000 students since the school's establishment in 1977. He received the Institute of Navigation's 1985 Superior Achievement Award for outstanding performance as a practicing navigator. He has written for several boating magazines, including Sea Kayaker, on the subject of marine navigation & weather.
